Question by Tricia: What time to leave from Central PA to Myrtle Beach, SC?
I am thinking about leaving at midnight to travel from Central PA to Myrtle Beach. It will be my husband and I, a 6 year old, 5 year old, an an 18 month old. We want to beat as much traffic as possible. Looking for suggestions when we should leave and what routes to take.

i agree since the small children, it will be cooler on them also and they can sleep for the most part. me i would travel interstate 81,74,77 then into the beach,longer route but quicker.check google earth it may help you decide,but central penn sounds like an easy 81 start,and since it is heavy with heavy trucks,night travel is best as they are thinner and many sleeping as they ran there hours out during the day, hope that helps and good luck,be carefull

I am planning a vacation to Myrtle Beach this spring. It will be my first time there and I would like some opinions on which area of myrtle beach is the best between central and south myrtle beach, south carolina.

I prefer the northern end of Myrtle Beach just before you get into North Myrtle beach. You are closer to shopping, restaurants, and other activities. I prefer the shore drive section.
